With this “vote of confidence” from many of the world’s leading enterprises, you can be confident of achieving a high return on its investment in training with PPI.

Other reasons for taking PPI’s training are:

  • Our courses are intensely focused on sound principles based on historical evidence, and on the astute application of these principles to create value for the enterprise;
  • We introduce effective, efficient, actionable methods, some not well-known, but very effective, taking a single system through all major process areas in workshop format, to achieve a high degree of learning; and
  • Our courses, overall, are scrupulously honest and always constructive. If a common practice is counter-productive, this is explained and why, and the alternative practice(s) explained and illustrated.

PPI plays a leadership role within the systems engineering community. As a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Corporate Advisory Board, we have been working for two decades alongside other name companies in improving the practice of systems engineering. PPI has a MOU with INCOSE to work collaboratively in the advancement of systems engineering practice.

We have also for more than two decades participated in international systems engineering, software engineering and requirements engineering standards development, and continue to do so. We have recently participated as a reviewer in the development of a new ISO standard on Requirements Engineering, a standard on System Integration, a standard on Life Cycle Management, and a standard on Risk Management in Systems and Software Engineering. We are currently contributing to the development of a new ISO/IEC standard related to Model-Based Systems and Software Engineering. We are also a reviewer of the update to ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015, Systems and software engineering – system life cycle processes.

Our professional staff includes five former INCOSE Chapter presidents. PPI Managing Director Robert Halligan is a former member of the Board of Directors of INCOSE, a former INCOSE Ambassador, and a former President of the Systems Engineering Society of Australia. He is an Honorary Member of INCOSE Brazil, and of the Korean Council on Systems Engineering.

Mr. Halligan also served for three years as Head of Delegation of INCOSE to ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 on Software and Systems Engineering. He co-chaired the release in Nashville of the systems engineering capability maturity model EIA-731 and has content in four of the five significant systems engineering standards intended for general application, including ISO/IEC 15288.

A presentation that Mr. Halligan sometimes gives to professional societies on The Business Case for Systems Engineering is available here.

One of our newly appointed course presenters, Mr. Randy Iliff, has been a Founding Member of INCOSE for the past 26 years. He has served as the Chairman of the Commercial Practices Working Group and remains active wherever commercial sector interests are involved. He is the INCOSE liaison to the Project Management Institute (PMI), concerned with SE-PM integration.

PPI leaders regularly speak pro bono at professional society events, including INCOSE, IEEE, PMI and RESG. We have done this on many occasions worldwide, in Australia, Brazil, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa, United Kingdom, and the USA.
