Discipline Leader, Systems Engineering
2023 / Opportunities with PPI

Role description: This is a new role in PPI that we aim to fill during 2022 or 2023. The role will understudy PPI founder Robert Halligan, taking over discipline leadership in PPI from Robert when Robert retires. You will undertake an exhaustive induction program, working closely with Robert in the many aspects of the discipline of systems engineering. The induction program will include qualification to teach PPI’s flagship 5-Day Systems Engineering course and all other courses currently taught by Robert.

Once in the role, you will be responsible, reporting to the CEO and as a member of the PPI leadership team, for the technical content of all PPI training and consulting. Within limitations imposed by other responsibilities of the role, you will deliver training and consulting services in systems engineering to PPI clients. You will engage at a professional level with professional societies and universities on aspects of systems engineering. You will be very active in social media in discussing systems engineering issues and in educating others. You will publish papers, and provide content from time to time for PPI’s monthly journal PPI SyEN. Plus more!

Profile sought: Decades of experience, diverse in nature, in the field. A background preferably not dominated by the defense sector. Independent thinker. Articulate. Strong character references. National and international travel will be necessary commensurate with the role.

Systems Engineering Training Instructor and Consultant (multiple, immediate positions)

Role description: You will undertake an exhaustive induction program to be accredited to teach PPI’s flagship 5-Day Systems Engineering course and other PPI courses. You will most likely also lead or contribute to PPI consulting engagements. You will further grow your professional stature through self-study and engagement at a professional level with professional societies and universities on aspects of systems engineering.

Profile sought: substantial experience, diverse in nature, in the field of systems engineering. A background not preferably dominated by the defense sector. Independent thinker. Articulate. Strong character references. National and international travel will be needed for some appointments.

SysML 2 Training Instructor and Consultant
2023 / Opportunities with PPI

Role description: After undertaking a challenging induction program, you will develop and deliver training and consulting in SysML 2 to a worldwide audience. You will further grow your professional stature though participation in OMG and other professional activities, self-study and social media interaction. You will become widely known as a SysML 2 guru, if you are not already.

Profile sought: Substantial experience, diverse in nature, in the field of systems engineering, combined with substantial experience in MBSE. SysML 1.x experience is not necessary. Ideally a background not dominated by the defense sector. Independent thinker. Articulate. Strong character references.

Vice-President Operations and Systems

Role description: Reporting to the CEO, you will manage PPI’s worldwide delivery of consulting and training services. You will lead the definition of procedural and information systems supporting that service delivery.

Profile sought: A structured, engineering approach to evolving and optimising PPI’s service delivery system. Relevant experience in a “for profit” environment. IT-savvy. Enjoys being a key member of a tight-knit team that sees itself as a family. Strong character references.
