Clive Tudge is a professional Chartered Engineer with considerable national and international experience in senior project management and engineering management positions in both Industry and government. His current position as Principal Consultant and Course Presenter with Project Performance International means his expertise and experience are accessible to those seeking to further their knowledge in the critically important systems engineering domain.

After obtaining his College Diploma at the College of Electronics attached to the U.K. Ministry of Defence, Clive qualified to become a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), now known as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

During his career, Clive has established and operated numerous successful software development companies, completing software-intensive projects on time, within budget and meeting prescribed requirements. His work has placed him with government agencies and industrial companies alike, including Queensland Rail, Brisbane City Council, QANTAS, Ansett Technologies, Airservices Australia and the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO). In 2009, the DMO recognized Clive’s contribution with a Certificate of Appreciation for his role as Project Chief Engineer in a major Defence communications development project.

Clive was assigned the task of managing the development of a flight data processing system for use in the Australian air traffic control (ATC) environment. He has a passion for flying; in fact, flying has been a recurring theme in Clive’s illustrious career so far. Prior to his arrival in Australia, he held a number of senior Project Director positions in the aviation sector, enabling him to work on such aircraft as the Tornado, Jaguar and Hawk.

In Germany, Clive was engaged as Senior Project Director on a unique Fly-By-Wire flight control system for the Typhoon Eurofighter project. Additionally, he served as Project Manager for several subsystems of the European Tiger Helicopter.

Experienced in virtually all aspects of procurement from requirements definition and analysis through to operational support, Clive has been entrusted with roles ranging from software engineer through to Project Chief Engineer and Project Director on very large, complex projects.

Clive’s key skill areas include project management, systems process evaluation, risk management, system engineering design and acceptance, systems engineering education, airworthiness analysis, communications systems, engineering change management, flight testing, network management systems, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, and billing systems.

In the communications and IT&T arena, Clive has enjoyed roles from Software Development Manager through to Company Director and Marketing and Sales Director. His performance in marketing, business analysis and requirements analysis as well as development, implementation and operational support has been invaluable.

From 2004, the Boeing company benefited from Clive’s considerable training expertise when he spent three years supporting the company, delivering systems engineering training. With PPI, Clive has delivered on-site systems engineering training to Airservices Australia, the Papua New Guinea air traffic management agency, Defence Materiel Organisation (Australia), Carl Zeiss (South Africa), the International Atomic Energy Agency (Austria), Itron (U.S.A.), Epson Edge (Canada), EADS (U.K), QinetiQ (Australia), Ansaldo (Australia), and Austral (Australia), amongst other clients.

Clive has also been recognised with a ‘Project of the Year’ award from a Project Management professional society in Australia and is a Freeman of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, a UK based organisation.

His interests include boating, golf and flying, particularly competition aerobatics, for which he was awarded Queensland Sportsman Aerobatic Champion in 2008. He is fluent in German, French and English.
